Hal Mowdy of Victoria, Texas founded Mowdy Boats with the goal of building a high quality boat that could be used in the diverse water here on the Texas Gulf Coast. In order to build a boat that could run and draft shallow while providing a smooth and dry ride in rough water was a challenging a goal for Mr. Mowdy. After many hours designing and on water testing, Mr. Mowdy acheived his goal. Some 30 years later, Mowdy Boats have earned a reputation as one of the most versatile boats for fishing the Texas Gulf Coast. Today, you can find Mowdy boats run by some of the most seasoned and experienced anlgers on the Texas Coast. Why? Mowdy Boats are well built and versatile boats. The Mowdy V-22 and C-25 are capable or getting you into some the shallowest back lakes and they are capable of light offshore fishing as well.



After building boats for over 30 years, Hal Mowdy has passed the torch. Mowdy Boats are now being built at a brand new EPA approved facility in Port Lavaca, Texas by an experienced crew of boat builders. Mr. Mowdy trained and oversaw the production of the first several boats out of the new facility. Once Mr. Mowdy was comfortable that the boats with his name on the side them were being built to his standards, he gave his seal of approval. At the new EPA approved manufacturing facility, Mowdy Boats are being built with the same materials and construction process which are time tested.



Mowdy T-16: The Mowdy T-16 was the last boat designed by Mr. Mowdy. The T-16 is a catamaran style hull that allows the boat to run shallow and get up shallow. Mr. Mowdy designed the T-16 for the growing number of Texas anglers who wanted a small boat capable of getting into super shallow water. The T-16 is a very impressive boat. Mowdy V-22: The Mowdy V-22 is the most popular hull out of the entire Mowdy line up. The V-22 is a great all around boat that has amazing capabilities. The Mowdy V-22 drafts at rest rigth at 8 inches which is amazing for a 22 foot boat. The Mowdy V-22 has a raised bow with a sharp entry that helps prevent taking a wave over the bow and also provides for a smooth and dry ride. The V-22 has a tunnel that allows the boat to run in shallow water and get up in shallow water. The V-22 is designed with low sides that make it a great boat for wade fishing or just taking the family to the beach. Becasue the V-22 has low sides, there is now way that the boat can be swamped or take on water. This makes the V-22 great for fishing out at the jetties and doing some light offshore fishing as well. Mowdy C-25: The Mowdy C-25 is one of the most unique catarmaran hulls on the market right now. The C-25 is a great all around boat that has amazing capabilities. The Mowdy C-25 drafts at rest right at 8 inches which is unbelieveable for a 25 1/2 foot boat. The Mowdy C-25 has a raised bow with a sharp entry that helps prevent taking a wave over the bow and also provides for a smooth and dry ride. The C-25 has a tunnel that  runs the entire length of the hull and allows the boat to run in shallow water and get up in shallow water. The C-25 is designed with low sides that make it a great boat for wade fishing or just taking the family to the beach.
